The first two films in the Dune franchise will return to movie theaters in November. This re-release will precede the launch of the third and final installment in the series.

Both previous films will be shown as a double feature on IMAX screens on Nov. 13. Viewers can also see each film individually on subsequent dates. Showings for the standalone screenings are scheduled from Nov. 14 through Nov. 18. The re-release will include a sneak peek at the upcoming Dune: Part Three.

Dune: Part Three opens in theaters and on IMAX screens on Dec. 18. Denis Villeneuve directed the film and co-wrote the script with Brian K. Vaughan. The story is based on Frank Herbert’s novel Dune Messiah. The plot is set nearly two decades after Paul Atreides seized control of the Imperium. Timothée Chalamet stars as Paul. The cast also includes Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, and Isaach De Bankolé. Charlotte Rampling, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Javier Bardem appear in the ensemble. Newcomers Nakoa-Wolf Momoa and Ida Brooke also join the cast.

The official description states that Paul now serves as a ruthless Emperor. He must face the consequences of his reign. Old allies return while terrifying new threats emerge. Betrayal lurks in every shadow. Paul is haunted by visions of Imperial collapse. He is also drawn into a sweeping conspiracy involving his long-lost love. Chani is at the heart of the unfolding mystery. As rebellion brews, Paul must confront the true cost of power and the fate of those he loves.

AMC Theatres has announced two new popcorn bucket designs for fans. These collectibles are based on the viral sandworm-inspired bucket from 2024. The new items are called the Sandworm Thumper and the Double Sandworm. The Sandworm Thumper features a working Thumper design. In the films, this device is used by the Fremen to pound the desert sand and attract giant sandworms. The Double Sandworm bucket features multiple Shai-Hulud figures. AMC says this design makes it easier to share popcorn.

AMC’s Instagram account promoted the new merchandise. The post stated that an epic conclusion calls for legendary collectibles. It encouraged fans to see DUNE: PART THREE and seize control of their collection. The post noted that the items are AMC Theatres exclusives.
