Emma Corrin will star as Elizabeth Bennet in Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel. Jack Lowden joins her as Mr. Darcy in the six-part limited series. The streamer released the trailer on Tuesday and confirmed the premiere date for December 3.
The production interprets the 1813 text with a focus on fidelity to the source material. It depicts the romantic tension between two opposing characters within the social structures of 19th-century England. The series is scheduled to arrive on the platform in just over a month.
Dolly Alderton wrote the script, drawing on her background as the author of Everything I Know About Love. Euros Lyn serves as director. He previously helmed the television series Heartstopper.
Olivia Colman portrays Mrs. Bennet, while Rufus Sewell plays Mr. Bennet. Freya Mavor appears as Jane Bennet and Jamie Demetriou as Mr. Collins. Daryl McCormack is cast as Mr. Bingley, and Louis Partridge takes the role of Mr. Wickham.
Rhea Norwood plays Lydia Bennet, and Siena Kelly portrays Caroline Bingley. Fiona Shaw appears as Lady Catherine de Bourg. Hopey Parish and Hollie Avery make their debuts as Mary and Kitty Bennet, respectively.
Corrin is an executive producer on the project. She works alongside Laura Lankester, Alderton, Lyn, Will Johnston, and Louise Mutter. Lisa Osborne serves as the producer. The ensemble includes Anjana Vasan, Sebastian Armesto, and Rosie Cavaliero.
