Ukrainian and Russian forces were involved in 184 combat clashes over the past day, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Its battlefield update, published on Facebook with information current as of 08:00 on 5 November, reported Russian attacks across several fronts, alongside areas where no assaults or active operations were recorded.

On the Pokrovsk front, Ukrainian defenders stopped 17 Russian attacks, the General Staff said. Russian forces attacked near Serhiivka, Molodetske and Novopavlivka. The update also reported assaults in the direction of five other settlements: Toretske, Vilne, Novyi Donbas, Chernihivka and Dobropillia.

The Kostiantynivka front accounted for another 10 Russian attacks during the reporting period. According to the Ukrainian military's account, Russian forces carried out assaults near the settlements of Kostiantynivka and Druzhkivka. These were the two locations named in its account of fighting on that front.

Ukrainian troops also repelled nine Russian attacks on the Huliaipole front. The General Staff placed those attacks near Zlahoda, Ternuvate, Dolynka, Hirke and Yehorivka. Its report listed those five settlements in describing the fighting there over the past day.

On the South Slobozhanshchyna front, Ukrainian forces repelled six attacks as Russian troops tried to advance near Ternova, Starytsia, Rybalchyne and Ambarne. Farther along the North Slobozhanshchyna front, the military recorded two Russian attacks near Pokrovka and Boiaro-Lezhachi.

The General Staff reported six more Russian attacks repelled on the Lyman front, near Novoserhiivka, Stavky, Lyman and Zarichne. On the Sloviansk front, it recorded two Russian attacks, with the fighting reported near Nykonorivka and Mykolaivka.

Other parts of the battlefield saw no Russian assaults, according to the same update. The General Staff said none had taken place on either the Kupiansk or Oleksandrivka fronts during the period covered by its report.

The military separately reported no active Russian operations on the Kramatorsk front. It gave the same assessment for the Orikhiv and Prydniprovske fronts, where it likewise recorded no active operations during the past day.

On the Volyn and Polissia fronts, the General Staff said the situation remained largely unchanged. It also reported no evidence that Russian offensive groups were being formed in those areas, according to the information available for its morning update.
