The Senate candidate's final stop for his bus tour was originally scheduled for the historic fort, but his Monday itinerary lists rallies hundreds of miles away.

Texas Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton will no longer hold an Election Day eve event at the Alamo. The campaign's schedule for Monday, November 2, lists stops in Conroe and Allen instead. Both cities are located hundreds of miles from San Antonio, where the Alamo is situated.
The Allen event is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Central Time. That timing would not provide enough time for Paxton to travel to San Antonio for a same-night appearance. The campaign had previously advertised the Alamo stop as the conclusion of a two-week bus tour named "Come and Take It," a reference to the opening words of the Texas Revolution.
The Paxton campaign did not respond to requests for comment regarding the change in plans. The Alamo is a World Heritage Site and museum that was under siege by the Mexican army for 13 days in 1836, killing more than 150 people. The site's website states that political activities are prohibited.
Paxton is challenging Democratic nominee Talarico for a U.S. Senate seat. Texas has not elected a Democrat to the Senate since 1988. Recent polling indicates Talarico holds a slight lead, while CBS News classifies the race as a toss-up.
President Trump, who supported Paxton in the primary, has also been active in the state. He held a rally in San Antonio earlier in October and conducted events in Corpus Christi and Lubbock last week.
