San Antonio’s live music scene hosts seven major acts between Tuesday and Sunday, ranging from alt-rock pioneers to Tex-Mex legends. The lineup includes Dinosaur Jr., Doja Cat, JD Simo, The Story So Far, Ceremony, Joe “King” Carrasco, and the Stray Cats. These concerts take place at venues such as the Frost Bank Center, the Majestic Theatre, and the Aztec Theatre.

Dinosaur Jr. plays Paper Tiger on Thursday at 8 p.m. The band, formed in 1985 by J Mascis, released its 13th studio album, There Near, in August. The group is known for its feedback-heavy sound and hits like “Just Like Heaven.” Tickets start at $45.80.

Doja Cat performs at the Frost Bank Center on the same night at 7:30 p.m. She is one of the best-selling female rappers in history. Her latest album, Vie, received critical acclaim for its return to pop elements like R&B and new jack swing. Latto opens the show. Ticket prices range from $62.75 to $408.10.

On Sunday, Joe “King” Carrasco headlines The Lonesome Rose at 7 p.m. for a $10 ticket. Carrasco, who signed with Stiff Records in 1979, blends garage rock, cumbia, and polka. He will be joined by local bands Hickoids, Krayolas, and Garrett T. Capps.

The Story So Far performs at the Aztec Theatre on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The California band formed during the 2000s pop-punk wave but has shifted toward indie rock. Their 2024 album, I Want to Disappear, reflects this change. Tickets cost $82.

Ceremony plays Paper Tiger on Thursday at 8 p.m. The Rohnert Park, California, group started in the mid-2000s as a hardcore band but evolved into a post-punk and new wave act. Their 2019 album, In the Spirit World Now, features synths and a Devo-style bounce.

JD Simo performs at the Tobin Center’s Carlos Alvarez Studio Theater on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The Nashville guitarist plays loud, loose blues influenced by Hill Country grooves. He has worked with Jack White and Beyoncé. Austin-based band Black Joe Lewis opens the show. Tickets start at $48.

The Stray Cats reunite at the Majestic Theatre on Tuesday, Nov. 10. The trio, led by Brian Setzer, led the 1980s rockabilly revival with hits like “Rock This Town.” The band broke up at the height of its success but has regrouped to play a stripped-down sound. Ticket prices range from $60.39 to $408.75.
