Ukrainian forces struck the Energiya military plant in Yelets, Russia, on October 25. Open-source intelligence groups report that at least seven missiles hit the facility. The plant is located in Lipetsk Oblast and serves as the country's only producer of batteries for guidance and correction modules used in aerial bombs.
The Ukrainian OSINT community Exilenova+ posted new footage of the damage on October 26. Their analysis identified hits on several buildings within the plant. Exilenova+ noted that the facility manufactures components for weapons used in daily attacks on Ukraine.
An analyst from Dnipro Osint, known as Harbuz, reviewed the images. Harbuz concluded that Ukrainian defense forces targeted both main buildings at the site. One building was physically destroyed, while the other suffered internal fire damage that gutted its interior.
Ukraine's General Staff confirmed the attack earlier. The military reported a hit on a workshop that produces power cells for Russian weapons. Batteries from Yelets are used in the production of Iskander-M cruise missiles, Zircon ballistic missiles, and RM-48U missiles.
The plant also supplies components for 95Ya6 surface-to-air missiles used in Pantsir air defense systems. It provides parts for Kh-47M2 Kinzhal air-launched ballistic missiles. These strikes follow attacks on other Russian defense facilities in Oryol and Tolyatti on October 23 and 24.
