Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., shared a calm lakeside video on Friday that featured a Somali hip-hop track with aggressive lyrics about defeating opponents. The post came two days after Homeland Security Investigations agents searched her Washington home. The song, titled "Nimaan Ciilayba Icaaya," includes lines stating that enemies scatter and are crushed when the singer steps forward. Omar captioned the clip, which showed her and husband Tim Mynett walking on a dock, with the note, "Less scrolling, more strolling. Enjoying our beautiful Minnesota lakes."

The visual content of the video contrasted sharply with the audio. While the footage showed the couple smiling and chatting against a backdrop of fall foliage, the track by Ilkacase Qays, whose real name is Muse Abdikadir, described a persona that intimidates rivals. A translation of the lyrics obtained by Fox News Digital includes the line, "No enemy dares threaten me, wherever I step, they scatter." The song also features Somali singer Hodan Abdirahman. Cultural analysts describe the piece as an example of Somali lyrical poetry focused on pride and personal dignity.

Omar returned to public view in Minnesota on Friday after spending nearly two weeks away from the spotlight. Her absence followed the Oct. 12 raid on her D.C. residence. On Friday, she cast an early ballot in Minneapolis alongside state Attorney General Keith Ellison. The two then attended a lunch at the Karmel Mall of Somalia, where they posed for photos with community members. Later that day, Omar uploaded the video to X, though it remained unclear when the footage was originally recorded.

The federal investigation focuses on potential fraud in immigration paperwork submitted by Omar or her father during her path to U.S. citizenship. HSI agents confiscated her passport and cellphone during the raid. Her sister, Sahra Noor, has also been interviewed by investigators. Border czar Tom Homan stated last week that if fraud is proven, Omar could face denaturalization. Omar restricted comments on her post, leaving only one public reply from former Rep. Cori Bush, who wrote, "We love this."
