Fox News ignores Trump's push to replace AI with super intelligence
Media Matters reports that major pro-White House outlets continue using the term the president has vowed to ban.

Fox News continues to use the term artificial intelligence despite President Donald Trump's effort to replace it with super intelligence. A report from Media Matters for America published Wednesday found that Fox, Newsmax, and Breitbart resisted the president's demand to revise their vocabulary.
The findings emerged one day after Trump announced he would ban the term AI, describing it as a very bad and inaccurate name. The administration has not provided a clear definition of how this ban will be enforced for private media outlets exercising First Amendment rights.
The report notes that Fox's website still links articles to an Understanding Artificial Intelligence section. Less than five minutes after the Media Matters report went live, Fox News host Harris Faulkner used the term AI on air. She was teasing a segment about Stanford University posting an AI-generated image of a school marching band.
Bret Baier, who golfed with Trump last month, continues to run segments on AI. Laura Ingraham has also used the term on her show. These hosts appear to be defying the president's preference for the new terminology.
Other figures within the orbit of the White House have adopted the new term. Jesse Watters and Lara Trump, the president's daughter-in-law and former RNC chair, have used super intelligence on the job. Lara Trump is a key figure in the administration's media strategy.
Trump has promoted the shift since September. In a post on Truth Social, he declared that the White House would consider anyone using AI instead of super intelligence to be THE ENEMY. He claimed that Chinese President Xi Jinping prefers the term SI, like almost everyone else.
The president signed an executive order last month to advance the rebranding. This move comes even though super intelligence is already a defined term in technology circles, describing a hypothetical form of intelligence that surpasses human capability.
