Yaxel Lendeborg poured in a career high 37 points to lead the Golden State Warriors past the Los Angeles Clippers 124-112 on Sunday night. The victory marked the fourth straight win for San Francisco, a team that started the season with a 0-3 record. The Clippers dropped their fifth game in a row in the process.

Lendeborg shot 13 of 19 from the field and 6 of 11 from deep. He also recorded six assists. His scoring total is the highest by a Warriors rookie since Stephen Curry scored 42 points against Portland on April 14, 2010. The rookie has now posted 20-point performances in four of his first seven games. That places him in rare company, as only Wilt Chamberlain and Rick Barry have achieved two 30-point outings in their first seven games in franchise history.

The Warriors rested Curry and Draymond Green for the first leg of a back-to-back set. The Clippers also played in the first game of a similar schedule. With the veterans off the floor, the Golden State reserves contributed 40 points. Brandon Williams led the bench group with 17 points. De'Anthony Melton added 21 points in the starting lineup.

Lendeborg struggled in Friday's win over the Lakers, fouling out of the game. He found his range midway through the third quarter on Sunday. A run of five straight points pushed the Warriors' lead to 83-68, their largest margin of the night. Brandin Podziemski finished with 17 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists after a slow start.

On the other end of the floor, Rui Hachimura scored 24 points for Los Angeles. Kobe Sanders added 16 points off the bench. The Clippers will host the Toronto Raptors on Monday in their final game of the current road trip.

The Warriors will host the Phoenix Suns on Monday night for the second game of their back-to-back. The team welcomed WNBA champions to Chase Center before tip-off. Gabby Williams, Tiffany Hayes, and Kiah Stokes received a midcourt honor after leading the Golden State Valkyries to a championship with a Game 7 win over the Atlanta Dream on Saturday.
